Spring Is Here: A Poem by Alison

Spring is here
The days are longer. The nights are shorter. The weather is nicer. The sun is shining. Flowers are blooming from the earth. Animals are awaken from their long slumber. Spring is here. The earth’s awaken.

Welcome to the Hall Pass Blog!

The students (or kids, as they like to be referred as) of Hall Pass have worked so hard to write articles, surveys, stories, poems, lists and other writings to share with their peers. As their new instructor, it's been an interesting few months trying to figure out what works well, what doesn't, the best way to distribute their work, and how to get everyone involved and excited; this blog has established that. We originally wanted to create a website, but due to the limited amount of time we share with one another (we meet on Mondays for an hour and thirty minutes), a blog seemed like the more appropriate forum to create.

I hope that when you read the students work, you understand that they have worked hard, tried their best, had their readers in mind (which are their peers, middle school students), and are expressing what their interests and opinions are, which varies from school happenings to popular culture. Please also be mindful to write thoughtful, appropriate, and respectful comments on their works. This is a public blog that students, educators, and parents will all be able to read and to write offensive or inappropriate comments takes away from the students' work.

If you have any suggestions for subjects or topics to discuss or if you would like to also submit work, please feel free to e-mail us at: hallpasskids@gmail.com. Again, please make sure that your e-mails are appropriate; this is a school and pre-teen blog.

Thank you for your support, viewing, and comments! We truly hope to make this an exciting blog!

Sincerely,

Miss Smith
